Mr. Charles Robinson

Instructor of Computer Science

Directory Information

Charles Robinson is a passionate, dedicated father, husband, and educator. He believes that the goal of education is to teach future generations to take the lead in transforming society.  Since 2012, he has been working in the Durham school system as a soccer coach, instructional assistant in an Exceptional Children’s classroom, technology technician, and high school CTE teacher. Charles is also a graduate from North Carolina Central University with a master’s degree in Instructional Technology. His passion for education and service has led him to the North Carolina School and Science and Math as an instructor of Computer Science.

Outside of teaching, Charles enjoys playing and coaching football (soccer).  He is a former athlete and, for the past ten years, has been a coach. Some of his greatest lessons have come from coaching, because when you are a coach you are also many other things- teacher, motivator, student, mentor, and leader.  As a coach, he reconstructed a varsity program to their first winning season, first conference, regional, and state championship. He was also the recipient of the North Carolina 1A State Soccer Coach of the Year.

He also enjoys strength training, hiking, biking, playing music, reading, traveling, sports, and spending quality time with family and friends. He is passionate about education, environmental issues, social justice, and health.

Charles and his wife live in Durham with their 4-year-old daughter, two dogs-Harper and Hootie, and bearded dragon-Elliot.

He is thrilled to continue his teaching career at NCSSM and teaching the next generation of problem solvers!
